Grimes, Elon Musk's ex-husband, expresses support for his daughter Vivian following remarks about gender identity.

In response to the Tesla CEO's disparaging remarks on Vivian's decision to come out as transgender and seek care that is gender affirming, Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend Grimes voiced her love for her daughter.

Grimes—who shares children X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Siderael, and Techno Mechanicus—is supporting Vivian after the Tesla CEO chastised her for coming out as transgender and seeking gender-affirming treatment.

On July 25, she tweeted, "I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian," on X, the previous Twitter platform.

Grimes' statement follows Elon Musk's declaration that he believed Vivian, whom he shares with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, her twin brother Griffin Musk, their late son Nevada Alexander Musk, and their 16-year-old triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian Musk, had been "killed" by "the woke mind virus" because of her choice to seek gender-affirming medical treatment.

In the interview that was released on July 23, Elon said to Daily Wire, "I was basically tricked into signing documents." "This was really before I had any understanding of what was going on, and we had COVID going on, so there was a lot of confusion."

He went on, "I was tricked into doing this," saying that the only reason he allowed Vivian to have the treatment was because he had been informed that she "might commit suicide" if he hadn't. "I basically lost my son.

But Vivian answered her father's comments right away.

As stated by the 20-year-old in an interview with NBC News on July 25, "I think he was under the assumption that I wasn't going to say anything and I would just let this go unchallenged." which I refuse to do since I refuse to watch helplessly as you defame me in front of millions of people. It would be blatant.

Vivian further demonstrated her autonomy in determining her identity and health by registering to change her name at the age of eighteen, when she became a legal adult.

One thing I want to make clear is that I am an adult. I'm twenty years old. "I am not a kid," she declared. "My own decisions should define my life."

Along with reflecting on how her father was "quick to anger" and only around for 10% of her life, Vivian also talked about how her estrangement from him started long before she came out as transgender at the age of 16.

She recalled an instance from the fourth grade in which her father allegedly chastised her for the tone of her voice. "He is uncaring and narcissistic," she claimed. "My voice was very high, so he was yelling at me angrily all the time. It was inhumane.

Vivian conveyed her appreciation for her mother, even though her relationship with her father has grown more than just tense.

She described Justine as "extremely supportive." "I adore her greatly."
